Going Live to Multiple Channels
In some instances, a client may have multiple websites or outlets, which requires multiple channels within the Sardius Control Panel, yet may want to broadcast the same feed to all outlets/channels at the same time.
This guide will walk you through how to do that in a few simple steps.
Create the first (source/parent) event
Create an event within the calendar of the primary Channel. We can call this Channel 1, which will act as the "source" of the live stream. Set the date and times needed for the live event. Then click the Add More Details button.
For help on Creating a Calendar event, click here.
Navigate to the Customization tab and scroll down. Take note of the "Asset name" being broadcast for this event & copy it.
Finish setting up the event and then click the Create Event button.
Create the second (child) event
Open the secondary Channel that you wish to also broadcast to. Create an event within the calendar of the secondary Channel. We can call this Channel 2. Make sure the date and time of this event align perfectly with the date and time of the event created in Channel 1. Click the Add More Details button here also.
This time, navigate to the Streaming tab. Click Create Event Defaults.
If Streaming defaults have already been setup, click Override Event Defaults.
A modal window will appear. Scroll down to choose Linked Asset from the list, and then click the Next button.
This new screen will show a list of all available Assets on the account. Scroll down to find the Asset that was listed on the Channel 1 event. If the list of Assets is overwhelming, type the name of the Asset into the search bar at the top left. This will grant quick access to the Asset file in question. Click on the Asset name and click the Next button.
If everything looks good, click Finish.
Click the Create Event button.
Now, as the event goes live and begins to Stream out, the Asset/video shown on both Channels will be the exact same stream.
Note: If needing to broadcast to more than two Channels, follow the steps for Channel 2 through as many additional Channels as needed.
