New Kulabyte Channel
If you have an existing channel that you would like to update instead, please click here.
Access your Kulabyte UI. Click the three dots in the upper left corner and select "Add Channel"
In Step 1 of the modal, give the channel an easily identifiable name. Then click Next.
In Step 2 of the modal, select the appropriate input/baseband. Then click Next.
Don't make any changes to the Video/Audio sources UNLESS you need to send multi-channel audio to your satellite campus(es). To add additional channels:
- Click the + button under "Audio Inputs"
- Adjust the different inputs based on your audio board's Stereo/Mono configuration and assign the appropriate channel(s) to that input.
Click Next to advance to Step 3.
In Step 3 of the modal, select the H264-1080-AAC-192 Template.
Note: We do not want to select an ABR (Waterfall / Adjustable Bitrate) template as Display Engines only support 1 bitrate.
In Step 4 of the modal, select HLS as the output, then enter the following information:
- Output Name: Sardius DVR (or something similar)
- Protocol: http://
- Server: enter the URL according to the following formula:
- TEMPLATE: ep2.storage.sardius.media/ep2/hls/accountID/name/

- FINAL RESULT (example): ep2.storage.sardius.media/1s2D3f4g/9amService/
- TEMPLATE: ep2.storage.sardius.media/ep2/hls/accountID/name/
- Variant Playlist Name: playlist.m3u8
- Segment Duration: 10000
- Segment Count: 4800
Note: If you do not know your unique Sardius Account ID, contact Sardius Support.
Click on the Tool icon in the upper right corner of the modal.
Add the following parameters:
- enable_hls_buffer = true
- hls_buffer_duration = 7200
Click OK to close the parameters menu.
Click OK to finish with the Output Parameters.
Click Next.
Verify the information shown in the "Ready to Stream" modal. Then click "Done."
If you would like a higher bitrate for your stream, simply edit the channel and adjust the 1080p Video Encoder.
