Troubleshooting Makito Inputs
With all Makito models, the H.264 setting is designed to work only with progressive inputs. If your facility and/or signal is using interlaced inputs, then you will have to either:
- Convert the input
- Change your encoder's H.264 setting to HEVC or H.265 (available on select models only)
Note: The Sardius Control Panel's automation (Sardius Stream) currently only supports H.264. If you would like to use HEVC or H.265, you will have to set up Sardius Stream in a Manual Configuration.
The Makito X and Makito X4 are designed for progressive signals. If the incoming signal is interlaced, then it is possible that you will need to convert your incoming SDI signal from an interlaced format to progressive.
Different ways that you could do this:
- Check your switcher output to see if you can convert it from Interlaced to Progressive
- Use external hardware such as:
- Decimator
- BMD UpDownCross Mini Converter
- Teranex Standards Converter
- AJA UpDownCross Mini Converter
