Release 1.47

Welcome to Sardius Control Panel Release 1.47!
Released May 5, 2025

Stream Preview

Curious to know if everything is working before going live? Now it's possible! Our stream status page will now show a preview of what your encoder will send to your channel. Next to the preview window, you will also see statistics on your video and audio signal, as well as some data on your stream's health.

As an added bonus, you can also see your live audio levels right beside the player.

For paired devices, this preview window will be active beginning 2 minutes prior to your stream's scheduled start.

For manual devices, this preview window will be active the moment you start pushing our system a signal from your encoder.

To access this preview from inside your channel:

  1. Click "Stream" on the sidebar
  2. Click "Status" in the top menu

This stream preview currently only works with Sardius Stream, including manual RTMPS and SRT connections.

YouTube Output Updates

This release brings two powerful updates to YouTube Outputs for live streams.

Update #1 is Archive Visibility. Previously, once your YouTube stream was finished, it would remain in your public channel for all to see. Many of our clients would have to go into their channel after the stream and set the archive to "unlisted" or "private." Now, your YouTube output can do that for you!

Update #2 is Delayed Start. Previously, when your channel started streaming, your YouTube output would begin streaming as well. If you wanted to delay the start, you would have had to manually add the YouTube output to your stream after the event begins. Now, you can add an automatic delay! So if you have a 15-minute Pre-Roll, and you don't want that Pre-Roll content going to your YouTube stream, you can have our system manage that for you.

These updates are available on individual events. To add these updates to your event, navigate to your event settings, hover over the YouTube output and click "Edit settings."

A modal will appear with the Archive Visibility, Delayed Start, and the Schedule Output options.

Once you make your adjustments and click Update, you will see your selections on the YouTube Output card.

Time To Live (TTL)

Do you want a live stream archive to only be stored or available for a certain amount of time? Or do you run test streams as a way to monitor the connection and check on statuses, but don't need to keep these records long-term? We now offer Time to Live (TTL) settings for channel defaults, event archives, and individual assets.

To set TTL settings for Channel Defaults:

  1. In your channel, open the "Stream" section
  2. Click on "Settings"
  3. Set an Archive Auto-Delete in Days
    1. To never delete your assets, enter in the number 0.

ttlChannel

To set TTL for an individual event archive:

  1. Open the event's Archive Settings
  2. To never delete your assets, enter in the number 0.
    1. Set an Archive Auto-Delete in Days

ttlEvent

To set TTL for an individual asset:

  1. Open your asset and select the Metadata tab.
  2. Locate the "Manage Dates" section and set a date for deletion.

assetDelete

When the TTL expires, or the deletion date arrives, our system will place the asset in the deletion queue. There it will live for a few extra days to give you time to recover the asset if needs. Once that queue's timer elapses, the asset will be permanently deleted.

Batch Delete

We now allow for multiple assets to be deleted at a time. To delete multiple assets, check each asset that you want to delete. At the bottom of the screen, you will see a selection bar to appear that will show how many assets are selected, and also the option to delete.

Once you select delete, these assets will be placed in the deletion queue and will be removed from your account.

Other Updates

There are many other quality of life updates "under the hood" to help our system run smoother, cleaner, and more effective. These updates also helped us streamline a few processes, and begin staging for some major updates coming later this year.
