Release 1.32

Updated

Welcome to Sardius Control Panel Release 1.32!

Released Mar. 7, 2023

Table of Contents

Introducing the Live Event Manager! Managing Devices and Outputs just became a lot easier! From your Channel’s Calendar, you now have easy access to a status section for the current live event. This section contains a video player (to verify your encoder’s connection to Sardius Stream) and direct Stop/Start control over individual outputs.

This update is a handy tool for anyone streaming the same feed to their website and various social channels.

All Updates:

Channels

Easier Encoder and Stream Accessibility

In effort to make the Sardius Control Panel as accessible as possible, a new feature has been added. Users can now quickly determine the Streaming Method of a stream, simply by going under the Stream Tab of a Channel.

Also, encoder settings are now clearly visible by clicking on the encoder below, which displays a modal with all pertinent information.

In addition, the Remove Default Settings button has been relocated to the bottom right of this same screen, and a prompt now displays to confirm the action to avoid any accidents.

Accessibility Within Channel Calendar Also

The above settings are available under the Event Calendar, as well. Simply click on an Event from your Calendar and then select the Streaming tab. Under that, users will see the stream Source, as well as the Override Event Defaults button in the bottom right.

Here, however, the Encoder settings are a little bit different. Clicking the encoder will give you a modal with a bit more information, but the encoder settings are displayed at the top.

Clarity for Archive Settings

We’ve made navigating to and managing an event’s archive settings easier by adding a section heading.

Archive Settings

We have enabled tooltips for Auto Publish, Auto Approve, and Pre/Post Roll to aid you in fine tuning your automatic archive settings. To learn more about how each function works, you can hover your mouse over the icon next to each setting.

Chat Room Defaults

Previously, the ability to show a default chat room was located under a tab away from all of the chat room settings. We have relocated this toggle setting to appear under the Chat Rooms tab.

Viewer Settings

Session Management

We have updated verbiage in our Viewer Settings panel to focus on limiting an active viewer’s access per session rather than per device.

Roles

Permissions for Devices and Outputs

In our last release, we added the ability to manage devices and outputs using Sardius Stream and to restrict the ability to manage these based on a user’s role. This update adds a tooltip to the Role Management screen to specify the functions of the Streams and Devices permission.

Calendar

Event Scheduling

When creating an event and using the dropdown menu to change the start time, our calendar will no longer automatically change the day should you scroll past midnight. You will still be able to manually change the day should your event need to be moved.

Feeds

Feed Restrictions

We reorganized the different settings for the different restrictions for a feed based upon common and advanced usage.

We have also revised the tooltips to clarify how each of these restrictions can influence the appearance and usage of your feed.
