# Creating Magic Links

**Video**

> **Transcript:** In this video, we will show you how to create a magic link for reviewer. A fast, secure way to give someone instant access to your event or channel without requiring them to log in manually. To get started, we'll head to the viewer section and pull up the profile for the person who needs access on the right of the viewer's account page. You will see the Create Magic Link area. This is where we'll generate the link. Important note before generating a magic link, always verify that this viewer should have access to that specific viewer segment. Magic links bypass the login so it's worth double checking permissions before sending a link out. Now that I've confirmed the viewer and their event access, I'll click Generate Login link on the right hand side. Once it's ready, the link will appear directly below the button. Now I'll click directly on the string of information that appears which copies it to my clipboard. A small confirmation message will appear letting you know that the URL has been copied successfully, but this is the important part. This string is only a piece of the puzzle. It will need to be attached directly to your event sites URL and not sent on its own. Using an example, if your event URL is something like watch my event, the final magic link will now look like your event URL. Follow the media by the code we just copied. Starting with question mark, login equals and then the long string of characters. Before sending this off to your viewer, we always recommend testing the link yourself first, just to confirm you copy the whole URL correctly and that it works. If you do this, we recommend that you log out of your own account first before sending the link to the viewer. And that's it. Now you know how to create, copy and send a magic link to give a viewer seamless and secure access to your event. Thank you for watching and we'll see you in the next video.

Magic Links are a simple, secure way to give viewers instant access to your event or channel—without requiring them to manually log in.

### Why They’re Useful

- **Seamless viewer experience:** Magic Links eliminate login friction, which is especially helpful for large events or when onboarding guests who aren’t familiar with the platform.

- **Personalized and secure:** Each link is generated for a specific viewer profile, therefore you maintain individual access tracking and analytics, even when skipping the login step.

- **Ideal for direct invitations:** They’re perfect for sending VIP or internal access, distributing private content to select attendees, or simplifying access for speakers and team members.

- **Reduces support overhead:** Fewer lost-password or login-issue tickets mean smoother launches and less troubleshooting on event day.

In short, Magic Links combine **ease of use** with **data integrity**, giving you the flexibility to control who watches what—without slowing anyone down.

### How to Create a Magic Link

To access the Magic Link feature, go to the right side of the Viewer account and find the Create Magic Link area.

\*\*If the viewer does not already have a profile:
\*\*Click **Add Viewer** in the top right corner. A modal will appear where you will fill out their information, and at the bottom you will choose the event/segement you want to give access to. Make sure to save by clicking **Create.**

If a profile has already been created for them, simply click on their name and confirm which event they have access to.

> **Note:** _**Note:**_ It is important that you first verify the user should have access to that specific Viewer Segment prior to sending a Magic Link.

You will see a small spinning wheel appear, as the link is created. Once the link has been created, it will appear below the button you just clicked.

**Click directly on the string of information that appears & copy it to your clipboard.**

You will see a confirmation message appear directly below the string of information that shows the URL has been copied:

This string of information should then be pasted directly behind your event site URL.

> **Note:** _**Note:**_ The unique event URL is blue, while the _Magic Link_ portion is highlighted in red below.

Using the example URL identified above, it will look something like this:

<https://watch.myevent.org/> ?login=eyJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiIsInR5cCI6IkpXVCJ9.eyJhY2NvdW50SWQiOiI3MDU5MDg5N0FFNzQxYzIiLCJ1aWQ iOiI2MmM4MWJmNS0xOTEzLTQ2NzktYjI4MS0wNmNhMWI4NmE5NjEiLCJleHAiOjE2NDkyODYxMTksInNlY3 JldCI6ImRlZmF1bHQiLCJpYX QiOjE2NDY2OTQxMTl9.ogc1XZZlc9_qk8qF7FOl59k-LJnOLpZ0ms8lDIj

> **Tip:** _**Helpful Tip:**_ The Magic Link can be sent directly to users as this longer link or you can hyperlink it to a message in an email and send it to the Viewer.
>
> We recommend that you test the link to ensure you’ve grabbed the entire URL correctly, but remember to logout of the account before sending the access link on to the Viewer (or you will remain logged in as that Viewer).
