# 5. Templates

> **Transcript:** In this video, we'll take a look at templates where you customize bitrate, resolution, codecs, and more for each output. Sardius provides four template types: HTP push for HLS streams, Sardius Stream, RTMP and SRT. Options will vary based on your paired encoder. We include default HD and SD templates for each type as a great starting points for reliable quality. To customize, open one of the default templates and select the duplicate option. Next, select your encoder. Then you are free to adjust settings like bitrate, codec, etc., etc. or you can click Add Template to build one from scratch. As you edit, watch the notification center in the upper right. It will guide you to complete required settings so nothing gets missed. Templates are reusable across outputs and channels, perfect for consistent, tailored workflows. So far, we've paired a device, set up our outputs, and now our templates are ready. Our next element is Stream Services. We'll learn more about those in the next video. See you there.
