# 11. Add Your Team Members

**Video**

> **Transcript:** Welcome back to our onboarding video series. In this video, we are going to add team members to our account to assist us with managing our workflows. You can also create custom user roles in order to limit access to certain functions. For example, you may have someone on your team that should only moderate chat. or you can have someone scheduling and supervising live streams, These would be examples of custom user roles that you could create. Let's begin by creating a custom user role. Click on the cog next to your Account Name, and select roles. Here you can see all of the custom roles that you have created. By default, all channels have owner, admin, and editor roles enabled, and these roles cannot be seen here or edited. To create a new role, click the New Role button in the upper right corner. Enter in a name and description for this role. For this example, we'll create an asset manager. We'll add a description so we know what this is for and then we'll click Create role. Now you will be able to set the permissions for the role. The Admin users permission will give this role the ability to manage users in your account. The Assets permission will give this role the ability to manage assets in your account. You can also grant custom permissions for this role. example, if you wanted this role to manage specific assets like Sunday services or music tracks you can accomplish this by clicking custom and enter in the categories separated by pipes. For the role that we are creating, we're just going to grant full access. The Bios permission will give this role the ability to add and manage bios that will be used for assets and events. So we'll grant full access. The categories permission will grant the ability to manage categories. We'll grant this role access to this. The Clipping permission will grant the ability to use our clipping tool with assets in the account. This is handy for when we have longer assets that we want to make clips out of or shorter versions. We'll grant this role access to this. The Feeds permission will grant the ability to create and manage all feeds for VOD, simulated lives, and even podcasts. We'll go ahead and grant access for this as well. The Player Stats permission allows someone to see the media history and channel analytics. This is usually most helpful for support teams. The Polls Permission grants the ability to start and manage polls in the channel's chat room. This piece needs to be enabled along with channel specific chat permissions in order to work properly. The Products permission allows the user to set up ticketing and registration for channels. It works best with the Viewer and Player Stats permissions in order to effectively monitor these products. The Streams and Devices permission enables this role to add devices, outputs and manage streaming defaults on a channel. If your account uses the Sardius Stream method, the user will need to have this permission in order to view the encoders health and manage outputs from the live event manager. The Viewers permission enables this role to manage viewers that have registered to access a channel This role works best with the Products and Player Stats permissions. And finally, we have the Channels permission. You have the ability to set custom permissions for each channel in your system. With each channel, you can click and use the dropdown to enable which permissions you would like this roll to have. Since we're working on a role for an assets manager, we'll give this user full access to our Video on Demand channel, but we won't grant permission for any of the other channels. When you're finished, click Update Role at the bottom of the screen to save your changes. Now it's time to add users to this role. Return to the cog and select users and then we'll click New User in the upper corner. In the model that appears, enter the first and last name for the user, their email, and select the role you just created. you've entered in all of the information, click Add. Awesome. Now you're all set to begin creating user roles and accounts for members of your team. We'll see you in the next video.

In this episode of our Onboarding Tutorials, you will learn how to add members of your team to your Sardius account. In addition, you will also learn how to create and manage custom user roles to grant access to select features based on how that user needs to interact with the Sardius Control Panel.
